Unfortunately this case wasn't exactly designed for the iPad to still be functional. The four straps that hold the iPad to the leather case block very important parts of the iPad. The volume/screen orientation lock is blocked, and the microphone at the top isn't usable. Returning the product ASAP.

There is no way this thing is leather. I love Amazon, but the description is simply false. The unit stinks a bit (seriously - it smells). It does not stink as much to me as a few of the other reviews here indicate, but the odor is present. The elastic corner straps that hold the ipad do cover the lock button, microphone, and the speakers (a bit). It is difficult to make the open folio function as a stand, but it is workable.
Having said that, I'm not regretting the purchase. The cost of the name-brand cases is over 2x the price of this one, and the svelte ones cost more like 4x the price of this unit. The price is entirely appropriate for the unit. This month, the inexpensive case works for me, even if it is a bit fugly. In 6 months...maybe I'll want a pretty case instead.

I find this product to be an excellent value for the money. It sufficiently protects the device during normal use and carrying around. It must have been somewhat redesigned, because I do not see the straps in any way obstructing any of the important ports, as one of the earlier reviewers suggested.

Personally, I'm a little lost as to why so many people are giving this such glowing reviews. I got this case shortly before going on an international trip to keep our new iPad safe on our travels. Shipping was horribly slow, but thankfully finally arrived just before we left.
While the case isn't horrible, it is very cheaply made IMHO. It just doesn't feel very good when holding it, and certainly doesn't seem like it would give you much protection from a fall. As soon as we got back from our trip, we sent this case back.
If you just want something to keep the dust off, maybe this will work for you. However, if you want something that's actually protective or matches the build quality of your ipad, keep looking.

Looks very nice. Has a great leather feel. Seems to stay in place very well. Drawbacks: one of the straps covers up the volume button on the right side, and there's no way to prop it up. Overall very pleased with this case.
