I thought it would be large by the photos, but was happy to see it was compact. The part which is not shown, the main compartment where the iPad goes in has an additional zipper held pocket. I recommend putting your iPad in some protective case before inserting it here because the zipper may scratch your iPad. The numerous exterior pockets are great for holding iPhones, earphones, battery chargers, pens, USB cables, etc.
